Analysis of non-ionic surfactants of the "Alkyl glucoside" type

Alkyl glucosides (AGs) are a class of nonionic surfactants widely used in a variety of cosmetic, household and industrial applications. These compounds are biodegradable and consist of a hydrophilic end (here of glucose) and a hydrophobic end composed of alkyl groups of variable length.

They are used as foaming agents in detergents but also in the personal care industry as they are biodegradable and safe for human health.
