Nitrosamines are molecules that are formed essentially unintentionally by reaction between a nitrogenous precursor and a nitrosating agent.
With the general formula ≈NN = O, certain nitrosamines are classified as carcinogenic and mutagenic substances. Consequently, their content is regulated and must not exceed the limit set by the directive or the European regulation in force (Annex XVII of the REACH Regulation as carcinogenic substances of category 1B).
It is possible to find this type of molecules in various products such as food packaging, plastic toys, cosmetics, but also as drug by-products.
Do you want to make sure that the mascara marketed by a major cosmetics chain and used by thousands of customers does not contain nitrosamines ?
Do you want to check that contact with nitrogenous foods has not changed the chemical state of your packaging ?
