SURFACE PROFILOMETRY THROUGH 3D LASER CONFOCAL MICROSCOPY

Confocal microscopy reconstructs a 3D image of a component by measuring the intensity reflected by the component at the focal plane.
The presence of a diaphragm at the point of the object makes it possible to overcome the depth of field of the objective and to select only one plane for each measurement.
Obtaining a reflected intensity profile for transparent materials makes it possible to determine the thickness of each layer by identifying the different interfaces.
