The purpose of these analyzes is to determine the purity on samples of the type: Fibers.
To do this, a multi-analytical approach was considered:
Structural analysis by Pyrolysis/GCMS : The aim is to determine the nature of the main matrix and to look for traces of an additional polymer matrix. Pyrolysis coupled with gas chromatography (GC) with detection by mass spectrometry (MS) is a chemical analysis technique allowing to work on macromolecules.
Analysis by GCMS of extractable organic compounds : An extraction of these samples will make it possible to quantify the volatile organic compounds extracted and thus know the presence of any additives present in the fiber. The gas chromatography (GC) technique with mass spectrometry (MS) detection allows precise detection and identification of compounds with a mass between 100 and 620 g/mol.
Ash content and elementary analyzes by ICP : This analysis will make it possible to know the proportion of inorganic compounds within the sample and via an ICP screening to identify all the elements making up the sample.
